Angels Trace, founded in 2006, acts as a "bridge over troubled waters" for single mothers with families - many of them homeless - down on their luck as a result of divorce, death of a spouse, unemployment, domestic violence, or lack of affordable housing. It is estimated that between 70 and 90 percent of the homeless families in the United States are headed by single mothers who are forced to sleep on the streets, in their cars or abandoned buildings. And compounding that fact is that 9 out of every 10 homeless mothers have either been physically and/or sexually abused. Down on their luck, many of these single mothers and their children are looking for the kinds of mentoring, self-improvement skills and temporary support that Angels Trace can provide. Our faith-based organization has a positive influence on distressed mothers and helps them get back on track where these single-parent families can be independent and self reliant.
