Lycoming Arts will Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Williamsport First Friday presented by Lycoming Arts 🎨 Since the inception of Williamsport First Friday™ all the way back at the start of the millennium, Lycoming Arts has been dedicated to showcasing local artists, artisans, and culinary specialists throughout the city of Williamsport. June’s event will continue their passion for showcasing what the local area has to offer and much more! "We are incredibly proud to celebrate 25 years of Williamsport First Friday™" said Chair of Williamsport First Friday committee, Beth Armanda. “This event reflects the talent and creativity of our community, and it's a wonderful opportunity to support local artists and businesses while enjoying a fun night out.” When thinking of how to showcase the 25th anniversary of their Williamsport First Friday™ events, the team figured to feature some other forms of artistic expression, antique cars. Alongside the typical vendors, artisans, food trucks, restaurants and businesses participating downtown, there will also be an Antique Car Show. With cars from yesteryear showing off the creativity and artistic expression that the owners have put into restoring and refreshing the vehicles. Also highlighted during Williamsport First Friday™ is the monthly Lycoming Arts Gallery opening with June featured local artist Sue Nichols of South Williamsport. Sue’s history lies in the amusement industry, therefore her art takes on a similar theme in watercolors. Showcasing some of the most recognizable features of fairs, theme parks, carnivals, and also local Americana scenes. Be sure to stop in to support this month’s local artist! “Lycoming Arts fuels the heart of Williamsport—where creativity thrives, connections grow, and the community comes alive through the power of the arts!" The Blue River Soul Band will take the Pine Street stage and feature a mix of blues, rock, pop, jazz, and soul favorites. Highlighted at the Community Arts Center Stage will be Rob Mordan performing acoustic favorites. If you hear Lamar Park rocking, it’s because that’s where you’ll find The Vandals showcasing their punk rock playlist. Lycoming Arts will be showcasing much of what they bring to the community with an Arts2Go! station in front of the Lycoming Arts Gallery, which provides kids the opportunity to make some art themselves! Also being featured will be the River Valley Film Festival (RVFF) presented by Lycoming Arts. RVFF will have a break spot featuring classic cartoons and a raffle, for your chance to win all kinds of prizes!
