This year, the DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation has treated every day like #GivingTuesday. To celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary, we surprised 75 different sports programs with a $75,000 Sports Matter grant. Our criteria was simple: find non-profit organizations from across the country that serve under-resourced communities through the power of sport. We are honored to call ourselves partners to all of this year’s recipients and will continue to inspire and enable youth sports participation because we believe #SportsChangeLives. (fb)

To play and practice, these dedicated athletes have had to walk a half-mile to a community field, unlike the baseball team, which has facilities on campus. After securing land at the school for a new field, the coach requested a $20,000 Sports Matter grant, enough to build fencing. Their reaction to our surprise $100,000 grant is one for the books—and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate a win for equality in women’s sports during Women’s History Month. (fb)
