Openhood was founded in 2009 to create innovative platforms for storytelling as well as practical tools that allow sustainable community engagement and participation. We do this by introducing emerging social media technologies to neighborhoods disconnected from the national conversation on a variety of critical socio-economic issues. Openhood directly engages these communities by using existing social media platforms as well as creating new tools that can be used by the general public, policymakers and journalists. Each project is built around the nucleus of a high impact feature documentary.
