Delaware Valley Orienteering Association
The primary purpose of Delaware Valley Orienteering Association ("DVOA") is education regarding, and the promotion of, the sport of orienteering, including conducting recreational and competitive orienteering events, instruction, training and educational programs. DVOA is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation and is a tax-exempt Section 501(c)(3) organization. DVOA is an all-volunteer organization. In 2023, DVOA conducted 40 local orienteering events, 1 two-day National Ranking Event, 18 scheduled instructional events (including the Saturday of Training Weekend), all open to members and the general public, with a total of 3,600 starts for the year (3,194 at local orienteering events and 406 at the two-day National Ranking Event). Instruction is offered at each local orienteering event. Members individually conducted 15 educational/instructional programs with a total of 604 participants. DVOA maintains 24 permanent courses in parks in three States.
