This week we are featuring one of our Hawai’i borrowers @kokokaiyogurt - Koko Kai Yogurt originated from the concept and inspiration to create a premium European-style plant-based functional yogurt tailored for Vegan, Dairy-free, and Flexitarian consumers seeking a refreshing and pure taste, free from the additives and sugars commonly found in most American yogurts. In March 2020, as the world was grappling with shutdowns, Founder Aline Steiner’s thriving private Chef business abruptly paused, and Co-Founder Jonathan Roach’s web development projects slowed down. Leveraging Aline’s expertise as a chef and Certified Holistic Nutritionist, they decided to channel their passion and skills into something meaningful—providing people with GUT HEALTHY, probiotic-rich Coconut Yogurt. Since then, they’ve dedicated themselves to perfecting and sharing their Coconut Yogurts, proudly made in Hawaii. Since 2020, we’ve embraced the mantra “Simple is best, Less is More” in their recipe development, drawing on their Founder’s culinary background. Coconut Yogurts are not only dairy-free but also boast a fresh, clean taste, a creamy texture, and an absence of questionable ingredients and added sugars. In fact, you’ll find 4 or 5 highlighted ingredients prominently displayed on the front of the jar label. They are currently selling products in Hawaii (84 locations throughout the State - Foodland, Whole Foods, and Safeway) and in California (Erewhon Market - 9 locations in the LA region). Koko Kai works closely with farmers to source flavorings across the islands to bring you the only locally made, dairy free yogurt. Their mission is to inspire healthier living by crafting premium, coconut-based yogurt that’s rich in probiotics and low in sugar. They are dedicated to creating delicious, plant-based alternatives that promote well-being while supporting sustainable practices. (fb)
