Creating a culture of sustainable success for students in East San José through mentorship, opportunity, and financial support Supporting student success in East San José, CA The East Side Union High School District Education Foundation began its service a decade ago in response to budget cuts resulting from the 2008 recession. As the state and district recovered from the recession the Foundation has evolved in its mission to promote and create bold and innovative programs , services, and partnerships that measurably elevate student success within the East Side Alliance. In the past five years, the Foundation has focused its mission to assist the students of the ESUHSD by supporting the Spartan East Side Promise Program. Specifically, ensuring that East Side graduates not only enroll but more importantly graduate from San Jose State University. Furthermore, the ESEF has formulated a model that is unique among school systems throughout California.
