How have you helped youth find their spark through 4-H? “I look back at who I looked up to when I was in 4-H and how they affected my 4-H journey and how I wanted to be like them when I got older. I have a passion for beef cattle, and being able to see the kids take an interest into their animals and show them off at the fair is rewarding. I love when the kids come and ask me questions about their animals, and I love being able to have answers for them. 🎉 Today we are celebrating two dynamic parent and child volunteer duos from the 2025 Nebraska 4-H Volunteer Recognition award winners! 🎉 Congratulations to Willa Fritz, Outstanding Youth Volunteer award winner, and Brenda Fritz, Emerging Adult Volunteer from Engagement Zone 11! How have you helped youth find their spark through 4-H? “I have really caused a spark as a Junior Archery Instructor. I have already done archery for a long time, and becoming an archery instructor has helped them see me more as a helper, instead of competition. Many kids come up to ask me questions on my bow, what they could do better, or even just explaining their questions about ways they can improve equipment and other competitions to practice and compete at. This spark has helped me not only to keep in contact with kids I have competed with on the county and state level, it has also improved the confidence they have in themselves.” - Willa Fritz “By becoming a 4-H archery instructor, it has allowed me to build a connection with the 4-H youth to teach them not only archery but life skills. We create games that build teamwork, communication skills, logic and sometimes a bit of luck into our archery practices. After receiving a thank you card from a junior 4-Her this past summer, I knew that there was a spark.
