Established to promote the legacy of the first African Americans who entered the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1949, at Montford Point Camp, New River, NC Founded in 1965, the goal of the National Montford Point Marine Association, Inc. is to foster and preserve the legacy of the original Montofrd Point Marines (circa 1942-1949). The NMPMA, Inc. was established as a Non-Profit Veterans Service Organization, chartered in 1966 to promote the heritage and contributions of the first African Americans to serve in the US Marine Corps. The 40 Chapters across the United States promote the strong bonds of friendship born from the shared adversities, and the furtherance of these accomplishments.To promote the ties of comradeship by honoring their contributions to American and Military history.
