Foster Friday, Keshi Edition - the behavioral foster turned medical foster. After a few short days in foster, Keshi was ready to hit the adoption floor running... until, his foster mama (one of our veterinary technicians) noticed a small lump on his bum. Upon examination by our doctor it was determined that he had a perineal hernia. What is a perineal hernia? It is a type of hernia where a protrusion of organs or tissues happens through the pelvic floor, specifically in the perineum. What does this mean for Keshi? A surgery and extended time in his foster home. Our phenomenal doctor performed this very complicated surgical procedure, and we can say gratefully, she did an incredible job. Though Keshi has been giving his foster mama a run for her money trying to keep him quiet and on his best behavior while his incision heals, he is well on the road to his recovery. We are beyond grateful that our veterinary team tackles new challenges with gusto and determination, and gives every animal that comes into our care the best of the best. Though Keshi is mostly annoyed with his activity restrictions and that weird cone thing he doesn't understand on his head... we know he's grateful too 😉 *Keshi is not currently available for adoption at this time, we do not place holds on any animals prior to being adoption ready* (fb)
